Learning outcomes:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe what a syringe driver (Niki T34) and associated apparatus looks like and how it works
- Explain the pharmacology of the palliative care medications commonly administered via continuous subcutaneous infusion (CSCI)
- Describe the best practice guidelines for the manufacture and labelling of CSCI syringes delivered by syringe driver
- Identify whether CSCI medications are compatible and what diluent to use during their manufacture
