HNZ Fundamentals of Palliative Care: Introduction to Spirituality

Aim:

The HNZ Fundamentals of Palliative Care is a 10 learning package course, facilitated over 12 separate sessions. It has been developed by Hospice New Zealand to support and educate people who are working with patients and families/whanau requiring a palliative care approach

Designed for:

This workshop is suitable for all those working with people who have a life limiting illness. This includes but is not limited to: GPs, RNs, ENs, HCAs, allied health, management, reception and support staff

Restrictions:

The ESSENCE OF PALLIATIVE CARE is the pre-requisite and introduction package. You must attend this module prior to any others

As pre-reading is emailed to attendees 1 week prior to each session, please ensure email addresses are correct on registration

Learning outcomes:

All staff have the potential to offer spiritual care. At the end of this session participants will be able to describe what spirituality means, know how to make a spiritual assessment and understand how to provide quality spiritual care

Topics covered:

There are 10 learning packages in the course facilitated over 12 education sessions in total.
