Mercy Hospice Auckland is committed to providing educational resources to patients, families and caregivers. Families and friends caring for someone with a terminal illness often find themselves with limited information and little knowledge of how to carry out the many tasks required of them to keep their family member safe and comfortable.
The Manaaki Programme offers information and support to patients and families/caregivers to assist them to manage at home. It provides opportunities to meet and socialise with others in similar situations.
The programme is free to all patients of Mercy Hospice and their families/caregivers.
The Manaaki programme runs in 12 weekly blocks and is repeated throughout the year. It is possible to join the programme at any point. Lunch is provided at each session free of charge.
