Prime Minister, John Key launches Tile Art Work for Mercy Hospice Auckland

Remembrance TilesThe Past Present and Future wall art garden project was launched by the Prime Minister John Key, on 26th March to raise funds for Mercy Hospice Auckland.

Remembrance TilesThis artwork, developed by Bob Steiner Ceramics forms a lasting tribute from families and friends to loved ones who have died. Interweaved tiles acknowledge the contribution of individuals and businesses who support the project and allow our legacy of care to continue.

The launch unveiled the centrepiece of the art project and pieces are being sold as remembrance tiles. Additional panels will be installed as they are sold. Ultimately, it is envisaged to be a wall art garden installation measuring up to around 16 meters x 1.2 meters (when finished).

The purchase of a tile offers a tangible and lasting memory of a loved one and will ensure that services can continue to be provided free of charge to the people of Auckland City.

Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Hospice Auckland, Jan Nichols says "finding something beautiful with longevity was the key".
