The Garden Party 2010

The early autumn sun shone warm for the second Mercy Hospice Auckland Garden Party at Florence Court on 24 March. The day by all accounts was a great success with ladies and gentlemen dressing in their finery to enjoy a day of wonderful food, wine and company.

The committee once again organised fabulous silent auction items which included a weekend away in Kerikeri, morning tea with John Banks, cases of wine and a night a the opera.

Guests were entertained by talented singers Helen Medlyn and Emma Sloman while enjoying a delicious lunch catered for by Dawson’s Catering.

The day was full of activity including a Coopers Creek blind wine tasting competition, a fashion show, a hat competition and a doubles tennis match. The raffle also proved popular with the opportunity to win a table for 10 at 10, another popular fundraising event, at the Hyatt on June 20.

Special thank you to Carol Hirschfeld for giving her time to MC the event, Dawson’s Catering, Coopers Creek Wines, Town and Country Marquee, Datacom Services, Lion Nathan and all those who donated in kind. Thank you to the volunteer fundraising committee for their organisation of the day and to Alma and John Sax for hosting the Garden Party at their beautiful property, Florence Court in Epsom.
