Take Friday Off - get ready for Ponsonby's greatest party

Take Friday Off

Harcourts Ponsonby, along with Ponsonby News, are hosting a charity golf event called 'Take Friday Off' for Mercy Hospice Auckland, which will stylishly combine sport, with fashion and fine dining, in a way that only Ponsonby can.

To be held on March 25 at the Chamberlain Park Golf Club, the event is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with clients in 2011, while supporting the hospice. The golf will be run Ambrose style with food and wine stations, provided by top Ponsonby restaurants, at the tee off of each hole.

But, for those who prefer fine wine to fairways, in the clubhouse the festivities continue with fashion shows, music and live auctions amongst other things.

Event organiser Chris Dunn from Harcourts Ponsonby appreciates the uniqueness of Ponsonby and believes this event is the perfect opportunity to showcase the creativity and energy of Ponsonby, while also supporting a local worthwhile cause.

"My father and mother-in-law both used the services of the hospice when it was located in Epsom," says Chris whose father, Dr Patrick Dunn, was a very well known doctor at the Mater Hospital. Chris' grandfather built the wing at the Mater (later known as Mercy Hospital) in which St Joseph's Mercy Hospice was previously located.

"Now located in Ponsonby, the hospice has become a special part of the community here, and all of Auckland, so this is our way of giving something back," say Chris.

Sponsorship packages are available for businesses, who would like to align themselves with a premium event, and start from as little as $500.
