Thanks for making the 2011 Strawberry Festival the biggest success yet!
For
its third year running the annual Hospice Strawberry Festival was
more popular than ever with thousands of people attending the event
on 9th November.
Mercy Hospice transformed Queen Elizabeth II Square into a market village where festival-goers could purchase strawberries and ice cream, strawberry tarts, and merchandise including the popular 2011 Strawberry Angel Christmas ornament.
We were happy to see so many New Zealanders keen to be involved with the celebrations, including demonstrations from celebrity chefs Lauraine Jacobs and Annabelle White, entertainment and music including a performance from Kiwi songstress Annah Mac.
Mercy Hospice wish to thank the generous support of our volunteers, Phil Greig Strawberry Gardens for donating 1500 punnets of strawberries, Fonterra for donating 600L of Tip Top ice cream,The Breeze, Ripe Deli and Carlton Party Hire, and the many other supporters who helped make this day possible.
We’re pleased to announce that we managed to raise $25,000 which will go a long way to helping Mercy Hospice provide services at no cost to Auckland patients and their families.
