300 on Ponsonby turns 10

Our Ponsonby Hospice shop celebrated 10 years of successfully 'turning second-hand goods into first-class care'!

To mark the occasion, a special gathering was held at College Hill with volunteers and staff on Saturday 5 December. Since its inception, the store which was originally known as '300 on Ponsonby' before rebranding in 2012, has raised a huge amount of money to help fund our hospice services thanks to the generosity of locals who donate their second hand goods and the many regular visitors who choose to shop there.

At its helm you'll find retail manager Brenda Valentine, who starting volunteering at the store when it first opened, jumping at the opportunity to give back to a cause that was close to her heart.
She has been in her current role for just over a year and provides a friendly face that the store's many regular shoppers have come to know well.
Mercy Hospice IS also excited to introduce one of its newest team members Annie Hurley - who takes on the role of retail sales and operations manager and brings with her a wealth of experience.

In addition to their flagship Ponsonby store, there are six other Mercy Hospice Shops dotted around Auckland which sell traditional second hand goods, as well as a store in Ellerslie which sells furniture and larger items.

In the last financial year 328,600 items were sold between the eight shops and around 1.3 million dollars was raised for Auckland Mercy Hospice.

You'll find Ponsonby Mercy Hospice Shop at 300 Ponsonby Rd, Ponsonby. Open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. For further information phone 376 5301 or visit
